The name comes from a popular segment on Rashad’s old “NBA Inside Stuff” show on NBC Sports.Rashad’s return will remind some viewers of the television glory days of the “NBA on NBC” from 1995 to 2002.Along with Bob Costas, Rashad was one of NBC’s most popular and versatile TV announcers, hosting the award-winning “NBA Inside Stuff” for 16 seasons.With the NBA’s TV rights expiring with ESPN and TNT after the 2024-2025 season, NBC wants back in on the media rights, according to CNBC. According to sources, the league is seeking a combined $75 billion or more for its next long-term cycle of rights deal.
